Jani Kukkola is one of the biggest stars of this year's Czech Open. The experienced forward has won the World Championship for Finland three times and has been a star of Swedish FC Helsingborg for a long time. Last year he returned to his homeland, where he plays for EräViikingit, with which he is currently trying to defend the gold from Czech Open.

He returns to Prague with pleasure and beautiful memories. In 2003, he won gold medal with Finnish junior team.

Five years later, he experienced much bigger success – in full O2 arena he helped Finland to historical gold at senior World Championship.

That's why he is looking forward December 2018 so much, the best teams will arrive to Prague again. Next World Championship is great motivation for this 31 years old forward. "I would really love to play at next Championship, but in my age I have to take it all year after year," he says.

Now, second season in EräViikingit is waiting for him. The first one was positive. "I am quite happy with last season, we managed to win Finnish Cup and Czech Open and finished second in the league. Sure, we wanted to win everything, but we had completely new team, so I am definitely satisfied," he added.

Winning another gold at Czech Open, it would be definitely great start of new season. This tournament has an importance for Kukkola. "This is my fifth time here and I think it is the best tournament with great atmosphere, a lot of people and teams. It is really great pre-season event."

Can he lead his team back to the top again?
